Six days off over Christmas flew by in the blink of an eye. The fun began Friday night with a dinner out at The Cheesecake Factory. Thanks to Matt’s boss for a generous gift certificate. We split the mini crab cake appetizer, a salad, and I had the shrimp and steak Diane combo. It was delish!
After dinner, Matt gave me my early Christmas present. A new camera!!!! I love, love, love it!
There were lots of pictures to take over the weekend in Naples. We went to visit his Dad and Hilda Saturday. On the way there, we stopped at Pita’s Republic for lunch with a buy one get one free coupon. Their food is excellent and healthy, win, win! I got the gyro:
When we arrived in Naples, we caught up with the parents, then went out to eat at to eat at Mangrove’s Cafe, where they had an amazing dinner deal. For $39, you got 2 entrees with salads and a bottle of wine! I got the snapper:
After dinner, we strolled through downtown Naples:
Then stopped for some ice cream:
Such a fun night!
Sunday morning, we went to breakfast at Dolly’s Produce Patch. I got the Popeye’s omelet special, minus cheese and bacon:
My Grandma Yockey had that same dinnerware 🙂
After breakfast, we shopped at the outlet mall. Then we went on a relaxing boat ride and took in some Naples wildlife:
This was a perfect little get away and always nice to spend time with the family. Then we headed back to Tampa and stopped for dinner on the way at Pizza Hutt. We each had the salad bar and split a personal pan pizza;
Monday morning, I ran a few errands, gathering salad supplies for my contribution to Christmas Eve dinner. For Christmas Eve, we attended my sister’s church with her, her husband, my mom, and my niece and nephew. Evan slept like an angel through the entire service:
After the service we spent the evening together at their house, eating, drinking, and being merry:
It was a Christmas Miracle that I was up bright and early and feeling great for my 8 mile run. It was my first long run in a long time that felt really good. After my run, honey and I shared our Christmas morning with some gifts for our “kiddies”:
Then we headed back to my family’s for lunch and more happy times. I missed my picture of the yummy ham, cheesy potatoes and broccoli salad:(
And per honey’s Christmas tradition, we picked up Chinese on the way home (well actually Vietnamese, even better 🙂 )
Pho and veggie fried rice.
Another Christmas has come and gone, and I feel so incredibly blessed. It was back to work today, and I was extremely busy preparing for 3 weddings this weekend. I got a lot accomplished and it felt good.
My Dad and Vickie are coming in town tomorrow and staying with us. I’m so excited to see them, it will make the Holidays complete:) Stay tuned for more excitement through the next weekend 🙂
